The Chargers have fired offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.

The Los Angeles Chargers have fired offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, the team announced Monday.October 29, 2019

In his second stint with the Chargers franchise, Whisenhunt held the position since 2016. He also served as an offensive co-ordinator with the then-San Diego team in 2013. However, he has failed to reproduce that year’s success, when he brought the team’s offensive rankings from 31st to fifth in the league.

The decision comes after a road win over the Chicago Bears, but Los Angeles holds a 3-5 record, currently in third place in the AFC West. The 57-year-old Whisenhunt has also worked with multiple other NFL teams, including head-coaching positions with the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals.
