Local youth advocates Serena Datta, a Grade 12 student, university student Asim Asfar, and entrepreneur and volunteer Adnan Vania share their vision for the community.

On Tuesday, April 16, CBC Toronto held "Facing the Future Together," an in-person panel event at the Thorncliffe Park Youth Hub in Toronto’s east end. The event capped off a months-long Communities In Focus reporting project by CBC Toronto in the Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood.

Ahmed Hussein, TNO's executive director, walked guests through the venue and explained the various youth services it provides, including employment and mental health programs. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow then took to the stage to address various community concerns and answer questions about the local government's commitment to the future of Thorncliffe Park.Mayor Olivia Chow touched on local issues ranging from the Ontario Science Centre relocation to rental evictions, reassuring residents that Thorncliffe Park’s concerns are top-of-mind for city officials.
