The Transportation Safety Board of Canada issues its report into the incident at Bainsville, near Cornwall.

The privately owned Cessna took off from the regional airport in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., at 7:52 p.m. on the night of the crash, after which it turned northwest to cross the St. Lawrence River. The flight plan was to land at the Cornwall Regional Aiport in Summerstown.

TSB inspection of the engine noted no signs of catastrophic engine failure or mechanical failure. It could not be determined if the carburetor heat system was on, or functioning, at the time of the crash due to the ending damage.
