The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Nils Hoglander to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Hoglander was selected by the Canucks in the second round in the 2019 NHL Draft. In 41 games for Rogle BK of the SHL this season, the 19-year-old had nine goals and 16 points.

“Nils is a dynamic player with a high skill level and a strong work ethic,” Canucks general manager Jim Benning said in a statement. “He’s a creative playmaker with great hands and goal scoring abilities. We’re pleased to sign Nils today and look forward to seeing continued development in his game next season.”

Hoglander helped Sweden win a bronze medal at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championships where he finished third on the team in scoring with 11 points in seven games.
