have offered to divert some of their arena staff — who are currently not working due to the NHL season being on pause — to some Vancouver-area care homes that are facing staffing shortages amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Having additional workers deployed to care homes will provide relief to seniors’ care providers, allowing them to augment cleaning protocols to help prevent the novel coronavirus from spreading at their sites, BCPA says. “In addition to our internal program to financially support our part-time employees, we have been busy exploring different ways to help our employees through this difficult time,” Trent Carroll, the Canucks chief operating officer, said in the release.

Canucks That is fantastic. That’s the out of the box thinking needed to help.

Canucks This isn't what we meant by 'pay your staff' fr_aquilini Canucks

Canucks

Canucks How about the players going to help as well! Players r too good for community work? Or is there too much risk of them getting Corona Virus?

Canucks So put them at risk of getting the virus?

Canucks NOT UNLESS THEY ALL TEST NEGATIVE - THEY HAVE ALL POTENTIALLY BEEN EXPOSED. NOT ONE GOES NEAR A CARE HOME!

Canucks So send them into a high risk area...canucks are a joke..should pay them to stay home..

Canucks Better pay them what healthcare workers cost and deserve then

Canucks Vendors and stadium staff are not caregivers

Canucks I think it's a great idea. People on the front lines have too much to handle. If they can get some support/relief and everyone can stay healthy, then I think it's a positive move.

Canucks Unbelievable. Just pay the people like every other pro organization

Canucks The Canucks have always been community leaders. Soo proud to be a fan.

Canucks In other words, ownership is too cheap to pay employees' wages during a crisis like so many other pro teams are doing?

Canucks Except an office staffer tested positive! Don’t put them near the vulnerable now!
