Who cares if he goes to a contender? It’s up to “non contenders” to build their own team. Doesn’t anyone remember the 1983 draft when the reining champion Islanders drafted Pat Lafontaine? That didn’t stop Edmonton from winning the Cup just 2 years later.

Time for the penguins to retool. They deserve Lafreniere. They haven't gotten a break in 15 years.
