A Canadian Tire employee in Hamilton says he was Tasered by police while suffering from an epileptic seizure earlier this week.

Crescent-shaped bruises now run from his temples to his cheekbones and the imprint of handcuffs is still raw around his wrists.

Video footage of the incident was captured by a Canadian Tire colleague and obtained by CTV News Toronto. In it, Charles is seen lying on the sidewalk. His body appears to be convulsing as officers surround him and hold him down as he repeatedly shrieks.Later, Charles said he found out he was Tasered by police and woke up at a local hospital, where barbed darts were removed from his body that were released from the taser.

“The paramedics immediately extricated themselves from the situation to a safe location and requested assistance from the Hamilton Police Service as per policy,” he said. In a statement obtained Tuesday afternoon, Hamilton police said they were called to a Canadian Tire to assist an ambulance with a combative patient.

Police said an officer suffered a concussion as a result of the interaction. They confirmed that three charges were laid in connection with the incident—three charges for assault on the two officers and one paramedic.“That was the scariest call for help in my life,” he said.

My❤️.I worry about stuff like this daily with my spec needs son WHO also has seizures. Behaviour during & after seizures is unpredictable like having abnormal or combative behavior after a seizure while the brain is recovering, unless they go unresponsive after having 1

He’s no victim. Wait till court to hear the full account of what happened instead of immediately siding with the complainer. Wish the police would say more to get ahead of this kind of weak journalism

When Paramedics are subjected to violence they have every right to call for help. One of the attending police officers suffered a concussion. Any human, being a physical threat to self and others must be subdued and in this case, a taser was used. EMS have only seconds to act.

I feel for this man. I do not believe the police did anything wrong. They dealt with a individual acting violent in public. They don't know why. If this happens regular should this man be left unsupervised.

Senseless violence against black people needs to stop. This is appalling! 😢

'Once he recovered, a police officer handed him a paper listing three charges: Assault Level 1 and two Assault Peace Officers charges. “They said I couldn't leave until I took it and signed it,” he said.'

I smell a lawsuit …. 👏🏿👏🏿

He was getting medical attention, assaulted a EMT, they called police as per policy. Police arrived and he assaulted a police office…so ya his ass got tazzed. Here is someone trying to use his disabilities as a shield….

I have a very softhearted cousin who gets violent seizures like this, he carries pills to take when he feels a seizure coming on, but sometimes there’s no time. Nobody tells him the things he does during seizures, he would be heartbroken.

Lol. Yeah cops show up to a medical and taser the dude. Seems legit. Good reporting CTV.

I’m not even surprised.

garbage media once again trying to make news versus actually reporting the news GarbageMedia

Lol of course media left out 90% of the story they make it look like the cops just went into Canadian tire and decided to tasered the guy, media are worst than Covid

Poor guy. But honestly Hamilton has a million people who look like they are having seizures

the police in Canada seem to follow the US pattern...

This is disgusting!! They KNEW it was a seizure. Wtf?

Seizure my ass😒🙄🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇨🇦🇺🇦

So now that CTV has run the table on covid fear porn headlines, it's time to comeback to the fear police headlines! Interesting that ctvregina felt it was more important to report on a Massachusetts cop, then what's happening in Canada Propaganda.

My mother had epilepsy long ago when she was young in England and now her epilepsy is gone seizures no longer there

He was tasered after assaulting a paramedic and police officer? What a BS headline. 😂

Sounds like a Kids in the hall sketch.
