Cargo ship arrives in Philippines to return Canadian trash

Philippine Foreign Secretary Teddy Locsin posted video and photos to his Twitter account showing the containers being loaded onto MV Bavaria. The ship is expected to depart for Vancouver later today. Canada has previously said it expected the garbage to be back on Canadian soil by the end of June.A Canadian official confirmed the ship is hired under the $1.14-million contract Canada signed with the Canadian arm of French shipping giant Bollore Logistics to bring the garbage back to Canada.

There were 103 containers and about 2,500 tonnes of waste originally, but 34 containers have been disposed of locally in the Philippines, despite the objections of local environment groups. "The Philippines is not the world's dumpsite," she said. "Never again shall we allow other countries to trash our dignity, our people's health and the environment."

Waste-to-energy plant in B.C. to handle disputed garbage from PhilippinesAbout 1,500 tonnes of garbage that is being sent back to Canada from the Philippines will be taken to a facility in Burnaby, B.C., that turns waste into electricity. I think the prime minister should appear on to answer these questions instead of having to do it for legal/political reasons federalelections coming up and he is up to his hiding and political spinning of the liberalmedia It's awesome that it's being burned to create electricity We should be doing this with ALL of Canada's waste but that would mean the eco groups couldn't exploit you for donations and the politicians couldn't control you with fear mongering I know the company that shipped this is long gone but the people who ran the company are still around somewhere and criminal charges for fraudulently mislabeling garbage as plastics should still be laid !

B.C. becomes first province to force change to 'biosimilar' drugsThe change will save the government nearly $100 million over the next three years More stupidity from Dix!! Biosimilar drugs do not necessarily work as well or the same as brand name drugs!! If privateinsurers continue to pay double for off-patented biologics they do so at the expense of employer sponsored plans whose lifetime limits will be maxed out. Patients like me need 2 understand there are NO DIFFERENCES between the next gen biologics and their originators.

If I’m not mistaken haven’t almost all the major players left the oil sands and doesn’t Alberta need to pay billions on orphan wells clean up.
