The Toronto man infected with the country’s first case of the novel coronavirus was symptomatic on an airplane returning to Canada from China last week, meaning other passengers could have potentially been exposed to the illness.
Isaac Bogoch, an infectious-diseases specialist at Toronto General Hospital, said that most respiratory infections are passed between people in close proximity. On an airplane, for instance, that could mean people who are seated next to the infected individual.

The incubation period is TWO WEEKS, so you can bet there will be a LOT more cases showing up.
They keep reporting that the threat is low, they have no clue or idea how many universities will be affected by this and no way or intention to test any of them. We will see Canada cannot say that many of us have much faith in you, I mean federally. God help us all.

We should have banned all incoming flights from China. Health Canada is trying to stop people from panicking, but what they are saying is irresponsible. Everybody on board that flight needs to now be screened for virus.
That is a ridiculous assertion on the part of Health Canada. Everyone knows that air is recycled through an aircraft and no one is safe from a virus on board. Let us hope that this man was at least wearing an approved mask to prevent spread.
Ridiculous,there was enough time&warning to have mandatory testing at our airports,to think people will report is naive if people die or it spreads I will solely blame the federal government&Canadian health for not protecting Canadians

It's only contagious when symptoms are present. It's only contagious to someone within a 2 m proximity. Like a dozen people on a plane plus anyone who walked by him plus anyone who stood in line near him plus anyone who interacted with him, security, taxi or transit...
