A thrifting pro rounds up nine under-the-radar vintage and second-hand stores to shop across Canada.

In a city not typically known for its stylistic prowess, Swish Vintage is a rare gem. Owner Angela Larson is a self-described “treasure hunter, storyteller and stylist” who has been uniting special items with their rightful owners for 20 years.

The store specializes in the feminine and eclectic: Jackie O. dresses from the 1960s hang on racks next to floral cotton dresses from the 1980s. Some finds — like a custom-made leopard-print three-piece skirt suit from the 1960s — must be seen to be believed.

Carment: Canada should not support regime change against RussiaMélanie Joly, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, recently stated that Canada seeks regime change in Russia. Gives the soft-power, morally equivocal, don’t-be-too-mean-to-the-bully foreign policy stance that has served noone but bureaucrats since the 90s. Strategies beget action plans beget milestones … in a continuous circle. To quote quintessential Canadiana: “give your balls a tug.” Regime change is the most undemocratic thing in politic. I mean arbitrary forcing a leader of another country out to impose another one of your choice without the citizens being involved it's hard to beat that. 'It's for democracy' they say!. Russia was coming to the aid of 2 million people that were being persecuted murdered and bombed by Ukraine. Read the facts.

Hockey Canada says all 2018 World Juniors players ineligible for national teamPlayers from Canada’s 2018 World Junior team will not be allowed to play for the national team until an investigation of an alleged group sexual assault is completed, Hockey Canada told TSN in a statement on Monday. Hockey Canada’s disclosure came hours after the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage passed a motion to direct Hockey Canada to hand over a report on the 2018 allegations. Well that doesn’t seem right? Cale Makar, who wasn’t at said event, can’t play for Canada... Am I getting this right You mean Cale Makar is ineligible for national team as nobody else on that roster, with the possible exception of Carter Hart, would even be mentioned. Guilty until proven innocent is not how this should work. Possibly the best defenseman alive today is punished without proof.
