“It feels great to be welcomed home and to have them in our corner," said Morrisey. “To help us produce this really means a lot.”Cabarets are personal and intimate, giving the audience a glimpse into a very personal aspect of the performer’s life, said director Margot Bégin.
“We’ve known each other, in a musical sense, for longer than most people that I know,” said Boudreau. Morrisey and Boudreau did a string of performances last fall in New York and are excited to partner with Bégin on this project. Morrisey and Bégin often start with big ideas while Boudreau helps harness and refine them in a satisfying and magical collaboration, said Bégin.“It's so exciting, especially for cabaret, where you're up there looking directly into an audience,” added Morrisey.
Their last Maritime tour was in 2019 with the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch , making the return even more meaningful.
