Boston's aging core has led them back to another Stanley Cup Final. (reporterchris)

The Bruins have gained steam the deeper they’ve gone in the playoffs, which head coach Bruce Cassidy believes is being driven by his veterans. They realized early on in this wild Stanley Cup tournament that they might never have a better chance to win again.

“A lot of years have passed, a lot of wear and tear on the body for the core group, so they know what it takes.”First it will have to endure a long wait for the final. The Stanley Cup could start as late as May 27, depending on how long the West Final runs, which would give Boston 11 days off — the most by any team in the NHL’s salary cap era.
