The Bruins have signed forward Jesper Froden to a one-year contract.

announced Monday that they have signed forward Jesper Froden to a one-year contract.Froden, 26, recorded a team-high 22 goals and 40 points across 51 games with the Swedish Hockey League’s Skelleftea AIK in 2020-21. His goal total was tied for third among all SHL skaters last season.

“The Bruins are very pleased to be adding Jesper to our organization,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement. “We have tracked Jesper’s growth in the SHL where he has proven to be highly productive, competitive, and a smart, two-way player. Jesper is very excited to join a competitive team with the opportunity to compete for a roster spot.”

The Stockholm native represented Sweden at the 2021 IIHF Men’s World Championship last month, posting three goals and four points in five games.
