Blue Jays select reliever A.J. Cole to 26-man roster and place catcher Alejandro Kirk on the 60-day injured list.

Ty TiceCole, 29, has yet to make an appearance for the Blue Jays this season. In 24 games for Toronto in 2020, Cole was 3-0 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.200 WHIP across 23.1 innings.

Kirk suffered a hip-flexor injury on May 1 against the Atlanta Braves and Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said earlier this week that the 22-year-old was expected to miss at least four weeks. The earliest Kirk can now return to action is July 2.The Blue Jays continue their series against the Astros on Saturday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET/4:10 p.m. PT live on Sportsnet ONE.
