Bissonnette, 29, was sentenced Feb. 8 for his Jan. 29, 2017 attack on the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre.
It was the harshest prison sentence ever in Quebec and one of the longest in Canada, which since a 2011 Criminal Code reform has allowed consecutive life sentences for multiple murders. But it was well under the six consecutive life sentences -- 150 years before being eligible for parole -- sought by the Crown.
The six life sentences were automatic after Bissonnette pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, but the defence had asked that they be served concurrently, meaning he would have been eligible for parole in 25 years.
Question if you plead guilty, how can you appeal? This is pretty much like saying....ya I did it...wait I’m going to jail for how Long?....I changed my mind, it wasn’t me....lock this terrorist up and throw away the key

Canada is messed up.. i can't even think about how i would feel if someone killed a friend or a relative, and they get to go out on parole after like 8-10 years.. its amazing that there isn't more of that vigilante justice going on out there..
didn't he get multiple counts of murder? judge gave them concurring sentences, he can get out after 40 years, he should be grateful he could still get out one day. which is bs.. he should stay locked up if you ask me.
