Bill Spurr, right, presents Birthplace of Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Al Simms with his certificate. Simms became one of the best junior B players by the age of 17 and was invited to Montana for major junior training camp with the Western Hockey League’s Billings Bighorns. Strong offensively, and exceptionally fast on the puck, his hockey career led him to play for Nova Scotia at the Canada Games.
