Raine Maida on marriage, music and the Maritimes | SaltWireLONDON - The Belarus foreign ministry has summoned the Polish charge d'affaires Marcin Wojciechowski over a violation of its airspace on Nov. 2, it said in a statement on social media platform X, without providing details of the incident.

"The Polish side was asked to thoroughly investigate the incident and take effective actions to prevent similar incidents in the future," it said.In late September Belarus also summoned Wojciechowski after saying a Polish helicopter had violated its airspace but Warsaw said none of its helicopters had crossed the border between the two countries.

Tense relations between the neighbours have been further strained by Belarusian ally Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February last year.
