Bidart has considered moving on from Soundafex for a bit, after getting offers on the building that houses the shop.'Without it, we're just limping along'; Fiona recovery funds to help Cape Breton businesses build back Soundafex on Grand Lake Road in Sydney. The business has been at the forefront of providing Cape Breton's electronics for almost half a century — from car stereos to dealing telephones. In the 1980s, the store was the first Cantel telecommunications dealer in Cape Breton. Guardian Alarm & Security Systems was also a part of the business, but Bidart sold it two years ago. “There have been a lot of people over the years that have contributed to Soundafex being here for 45 years.”
