Police received 59 reports of a stolen vehicle in North York between Aug. 18 and Aug. 24. That’s up from 31 reported for the previous week. Reports of auto thefts across the entire city climbed by 15 to 171 . There have been 5,150 vehicles reported stolen in Toronto so far this year — up 39 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.One auto theft was reported at the following location: a driveway near Evanston Drive and Terrydale Drive on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at about 10 p.m.
Two auto thefts were reported at the following locations: a driveway around Daystrom Drive and Lindylou Road on Thursday, Aug. 18 at about 1 a.m.; and a driveway near Damask Avenue and Habitant Drive on Monday, Aug. 22 at around 5 p.m. A total of 68 vehicles have been reported stolen in Humbermede in 2022.Two auto thefts were reported at the following locations: a curbside near Bassano Road and Franklin Avenue on Friday, Aug. 19 at around 3 a.m.
