Australia for the first time has cancelled a tourist's visa over undeclared food as the country tries to keep itself free of African swine fever.

The 45-year-old woman who arrived at Sydney International Airport on Saturday had undeclared food in her luggage including 4.5 kilograms of pork, Agriculture Minister Bridget McKenzie said on Tuesday.Australia is free of the disease that has wiped out pig populations across Asia and Europe. But the disease was recently detected in East Timor, a near neighbour where Australian veterinarians are working with local authorities on an eradication plan.

Margo Andrae, chief executive of industry promotion body Australian Pork Limited, said the greatest threat to the industry was if the disease took hold in Australia's wild pig population.

Good for them , know the laws .

Australia seems to know what to do with people who try to come into Australia illegally and don’t follow there rules. Canada not so much.

The misleading FakeNews headline gives the impression that the law-breaking woman being 'deported' was an Australian resident. She isn't. She was a visitor, travelling on a tourist's visa. She was denied entry for breaking the law and *sent home*.

The law is the law snowflakes.

Good for them. Keep the disease out.

There is nowhere safe to exist as an African-American anywhere in America. Not even safe in one’s own home. Being black in their own home is illegal in the U.S. it seems now a days. Just terrifying. I watched the video and that was cold blooded murder.
