Mr. Lovell is among the thousands of Canadian, French and international spectators gathered near the beach at Courseulles-sur-Mer, code-named Juno, Thursday morning, to commemorate those who fought, pay tribute to the 5,000 Canadians who died in the“The democracy which is our way of life did not happen by accident,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the assembled veterans, dignitaries and observers.
