JOHN'S, N.L. — When the nominations for the provincial NDP leadership closed at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 27, there remained only one name in the race: Jim Dinn.
The NDP is still challenging those election results in court. The case is working its way through pretrial procedures and is expected to be heard in court in late 2023 or January 2024. “Getting effective, long-term results for people only happens with hard work. As your NDP team, we are prepared to do that work, to hold government accountable, to ensure that any decision made works for the people of this province,” Dinn said to a small room of supporters and staff gathered at Buckmaster Circle Community Centre.
“This government continues to neglect the basic things that could potentially help the most people, and we will continue to draw attention to this,” he said.Former NLTA president.Reporters asked Dinn what he made of the uncontested leadership race.
