ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, N.S. — A multi-gallery immersive art exhibition showcasing the nature of memory will be on display at the Artsplace Gallery in Annapolis Royal through the first half of the summer.
Cole’s intricate embroidery work evokes a sense of both displacement and nostalgia, each piece characterized by stitching up roughly 100,000 French knots, achieving an appearance reminiscent of post-impressionist pointillism. Fraser's material-heavy processes capture the fleeting essence of memories and toys with the balance between preservation and erasure through weavings, archival documentation and text.
“The jury observed a common thread in the four artists' works. Through their chosen mediums, these artists convey uniquely personal stories and experiences,” said gallery director Sophie Paskins.
