Arizona Democrats censure Sen. Kyrsten Sinema after filibuster vote. Sinema is growing increasingly isolated from some of her party’s most influential officials and donors after playing a key role in scuttling voting rights legislation.

PHOENIX — U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is growing increasingly isolated from some of her party’s most influential officials and donors after playing a key role in scuttling voting rights legislation that many consider essential to preserving democracy.

“Any reservoir of goodwill that she had is gone,” said Rep. Ruben Gallego, an Arizona Democrat who may challenge Sinema from the left. In Arizona, however, Democrats are ascendant. Joe Biden was the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry the state since 1996, and the party is eager to build on that success. That makes it harder for a Democrat to simply ignore the left here, particularly in a primary election.

“We are quite literally doing everything we physically, possibly can in terms of putting our bodies on the line and trying to plead for this action because the consequences are far worse than starving or going to jail or both,” said Shana Gallagher, one of about three dozen young people holding a hunger strike to protest Sinema and Manchin. Gallagher is co-founder of Un-PAC, launched last year to organize young people in favor of passing voting rights legislation.

“Bernie Sanders is attacking an Arizona senator?” Murray said. “I’d say: ‘Hey, thank you. You’re helping me get reelected.’”

Good. She is not a democrat.

I’m so sorry to hear that the senator from Arizona is a problem for you in Toronto. But we shall reiterate, it takes a majority in the senate to “scuttle the voting rights legislation”, even though every single American is allowed to vote and there are no rights being scuttled.

Denise Batters will remain in Sask. Conservative caucus after bid to oust her fails | CBC NewsSen. Denise Batters has survived an attempt to remove her from the Saskatchewan Conservative caucus after MPs and senators from the region voted to keep her. That's certainly another shot across the bow of erinotoole's good ship Flippyflop! Has everyone out West gone mad? This is amazing. She's against his decision to be more progressive(which is a joke in itself), and her supporters are the big C conservatives. This just means more splitting of the Conservative party, and that is just fine For Canada.
