‘Absolutely, it should be studied. … But the idea that people should start taking chloroquine because it’s a game-changer, I think is just nuts, frankly’

U.S. president Donald Trump considers them a COVID-19 “game changer,” his top infectious diseases advisor says the evidence is flimsy, while ethicists worry pouring millions of the tablets into hospitals is a long shot that could make people sicker.

There are concerns people could start hoarding the pills, the way many did with the anti-viral Tamiflu during the bird flu fright in 2005, and self-medicate in the hope of staving off the virus. “There is the odd study that says these compounds could help, but there are just as many that fail to show any benefit and others that go the other way and suggest potential harm, Kumar said.

But there’s no agreement on optimal dosing, and while the antimalarials are generally well tolerated in the healthy, it may not be true for the frail and the sick.

I think Trump should be the first to try this drug. Either him or Rand Paul

Well, Canada is hardly noted for its speed on accepting medicine that other countries embrace. The possible exception is thalidomide a drug the US rejected repeatedly. Apparently our health officials had no problem with it with telling results.🤨

'Oh my God. Don't take anything. Don't believe anything. Don’t believe anything that the President says and his people because they don't know what they're talking about. And don't take anything--be so careful and call your doctor. This is a heart ache I'll never get over.'

Odd that you would use a picture of Trump when the Canadian government is involved in the studies that are looking at the effectiveness of these drugs

People should also be aware those drugs are no joke. I've taken them and they can make you crazy and have retina problems.
