3,500 km in 76 days: Arctic fox surprises scientists with epic trek from Norway to Canada

The fox’s 3,506-kilometre journey began in Spitsbergen, the largest island in the Svalbard archipelago, which is located between mainland Norway and the North, on March 26, 2018.

“This is, to our knowledge, the fastest movement rate ever recorded for this species, 1.4 times faster than the maximum rate recorded in the previously reported long-distance movement of an adult male Arctic fox in Alaska,” the scientists said in the research paper. The fox’s current whereabouts are unknown because the GPS device stopped transmitting data in February 2019.

Nature is amazing.

Good thing he didn't go through the US...probably would have been shot.

Americans travel to Canada to buy diabetes drugs at one-tenth of the priceDozens of Americans travelled to a southern Ontario Walmart on Saturday to purchase diabetes drugs for roughly one-tenth of what they cost in the United States. And Canadians travel to the US for diagnosistcs and tests they can get in a day, rather than wait months for. Lower drug cost, higher taxes. Americans are crossing the border to buy prescription drugs at lower cost thanks to the taxed Canadians. Same answer I had 9 hours ago when you posted the exact same tweet And a lot of Canadians travel to The U.S. for medical care that they aren't getting in their home country.
