ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, N.S. — Annapolis County councillors have held the base tax rates this year but increases in assessments mean many residents and businesses will be paying more.approved the 2024-25 budget, which has a $2,603 surplus with nearly $25.8 million in expenditures. It included base tax rates of $1.025 per $100 of assessment for residential and resource properties and a $1.80 rate for commercial properties.

“To me, it means greater preventive measures that will, of course, increase the quality of life in the county,” Morrison said. “I think that all civic-minded people will endorse that increase.”The municipality budgeted $85,000 to establish an Annapolis County economic development intermunicipal agency with Annapolis Royal and Middleton or by joining the Valley Regional Enterprise Network .
