A group of snowbirds in Oxford County say they’ve been left with no place to go this winter because of COVID-19.

The resort they call home, Spring Lake, in South-West Oxford, closes every year for the month of January, and many are afraid to go south.

About 30 residents find themselves in this predicament. With COVID-19 raging in some of the southern states, not to mention social and political turmoil, they don’t want to take any chances. “And we’re just waiting for them to respond. So where's their immediate family to take them in? I'm sure they have room.... or rent like the rest of the Canucks.... or look for a trailer park that's not just seasonal.....

These are the same people that freeload our healthcare, is there any other reason why they came back? No.

Sounds like they got their wings clipped.

When the answer to your problem is have 1 home in 1 place instead of 2 homes in different countries it seems pretty easy to solve, go interview people working who get 1 mask a week / month / entire pandemic in some places

how many canadians can afford a second home in another country? honestly, to be reporting these kinds of stories about a very small percentage of canadians when you could be showing what real people are going through, what is this NEED to be a 'snowbird' its idiotic

Get together with other snow birds and rent an Airbnb.
