The Australian writer and broadcaster\u0027s second book, In Praise of Veg, features more than 150 ways with 50 of her favourite varieties.

Exposure has been shown to be “the number one best way” for children to build positive relationships with food, explains Zaslavsky. And it starts long before they begin eating solids. Simply seeing food on the table, and people interacting with it in a positive way, plays a role.Article content

“Becoming a parent has certainly created some really fantastic opportunities for empirical evidence,” says Zaslavsky. Since her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Hazel, was six months, Zaslavsky has been documenting her experiencing food. It started with “squelching and squishing.” Now, Hazel eats with chopsticks, and a knife and fork, says please and thank you, and watches what Zaslavsky and her husband, Nick, eat.

Through the weeks of filming, the children ate more vegetables than ever before and have continued to do so. Zaslavsky knew then that they were onto something.

Indigenous group walks to honour overdose victimsA group of Indigenous people walked from Morley to Calgary to honour loved ones who have died from overdoses. Race doesn't matter. We are all living right now and need to focus on the present to make life better for future generations. I'm thankful seeing this. Hopefully your walk was full of regret for not helping when you should have. Rather than wasting your time walking, who could you be helping?

Indigenous group walks to honour loved ones lost to overdosesMore than a dozen people walked from Morley to Calgary Friday, in support of those working towards sobriety and to pay tribute to loved ones who have lost their lives to addiction. And who was to blame for it all? -- yeap. The White person. I am Native American, and I am sick, tired, and fed up with seeing this: If you really cared about those you lost you would have been there while they were going through it. Not use it as an attention seeker. FFS.
