Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says province has identified eight new Omicron variant COVID-19 cases

Alberta is reporting eight new cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, bringing its total in the province to 11.

She says there had been a total of 12 variant cases but it was determined that one person is a resident of another province. She says some household members of these cases have tested positive for COVID-19, but it’s not confirmed if they have the Omicron variant.She says those schools have been notified and are getting rapid test kits as a precaution.
