In the wake of Alexei Navalny's death, Russian opposition figures find themselves at a pivotal moment in their quest to unseat Vladimir Putin — an opportunity, say some, to unify their ranks and perhaps even raise more support for their cause in Western capitals.Protesters opposed to Russian President Vladimir Putin demonstrate outside the Russian Embassy in Tallinn, Estonia, on Sunday.

As though to further underline the danger of opposing Putin even from afar, earlier this month Kasparov was added to a Russian list of "terrorists and extremists."After the death of Alexei Navalny, Russian opposition figures abroad find themselves at a pivotal moment as they search for ways to keep pressure on President Vladimir Putin and his seemingly impenetrable regime. CBC Ideas host Nahlah Ayed talks to some prominent critics with different ideas about the best way forward.

Navalny's network-in-exile, the Anti-Corruption Foundation, based in Lithuania, is still grieving but still intact. Yulia Navalnaya, Navalny's wife, is seen to be his natural successor, and has implied she would carry the mantle.
