Argonauts quarterback Bethel-Thompson apologizes for run-in with cameraman

Toronto Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson apologized for a heated postgame interaction with a TSN cameraman a day after his CFL team was defeated in the East Division final by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Bethel-Thompson clashed with the cameraman as he walked off the field on Sunday, bumping with the TSN employee a few times. At halftime, the Argonauts enjoyed a 12-0 lead at halftime but settled for four field goals from kicker Boris Bede despite a strong opening two quarters on offence. In fact, all 19 points from Toronto came off the right foot of Bede.

The Bethel-Thompson on-field incident with the cameraman wasn’t the only postgame confrontation for the Argonauts. As the players made their way to the locker room, a bunch of Hamilton fans berated the losers.

Argonauts QB Bethel-Thompson clears COVID protocol, will play vs. Tiger-CatsToronto Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who violated the CFL’s COVID-19 protocol by attending a Raptors game, has been cleared to play in the East final against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The CFL would have pulled whatever strings it had to pull to get him to play today. If that was a Ti-Cat player, that player would have barred from playing. CFL needs the viewership in Toronto, so the Commish will do what he can to make that happen. Tiger Cats were awful quiet in this one. Im sorry but Bob Young and Co. Should have been vociferous in their opposition to allowing him to play. Rules in place all season and as the clock is about to strike 12 you change the rules. Watch the officials today for consistency.
