Connie arrived at the Delta Community Shelter shortly after the atmospheric river flooding in November 2021

After originally being found clinging to a log boom in the Fraser River and then spending the next 14 months at the Delta Community Animal Shelter , Connie has officially found her happily ever after home.

“Her new owner is everything we could have hoped for, for Connie. He is understanding of her needs and has been dedicated to her since day one. Despite the adjustment period of transitioning into a home for the first time , she has since settled, and life is looking up!,” said Voutilainen

Why waste taxpayers dollars to remove something that is not broken? If people need a box to sleep in downtown, that's not Metrobus' problem. I used that stop numerous times in the fall of 2021. It was the closest stop to the building in which I was doing a program. It was sketchy AF and dirty AF every single day. Good riddance! Maybe the folks at The Gathering place need to speak to their residents about the disgusting state of the street and those bus shelters in front of their building? Maybe if they weren't abused and treated like a pig pen then Metrobus wouldn't have to remove them. 🤷‍♂️
