Riders would surely be enthused about the newly installed shelter at Christie, if there was something to which they could lock their bikes.

What a great idea: A special shelter for bikes at the Christie TTC station, so people can shield their ride from the weather before hopping on the subway. The city continues to build cycling infrastructure, and for good reason. Even in a cold and snowy January, riders are pedalling around the city, putting the lie to assertions from some that cyclists can’t use their bikes in winter.

The TTC got with the program by putting up a shelter for bikes at Christie station, an acknowledgment that an ever-increasing number of people are riding their bikes to subway stations before entering the transit system. I went there and found the bike shelter on the north side of the station, which is devoid of anything to which a bike can be secured to ensure it is not stolen before the owner returns.
