School-based vaccination clinics are running throughout the summer to help an estimated 86,000 Toronto teens catch up on shots for HPV, Hepatitis B and meningococcal disease.

As a result, many kids haven’t received those vaccines and now an estimated 86,000 students, who completed Grades 7 to 12, are eligible for and missing one or more of those shots.each week, with no appointment necessary. It’s the agency’s first big effort since the pandemic began to get word out to students that they’re missing shots.

Students can get these vaccines at a TPH immunization clinic by appointment or walk-in, or at a school mobile walk-in clinic. More information on the vaccines, eligibility, clinic locations and hours of operation can be found at. Clinics are also offering COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, to anyone in the community over the age of five.

“I think a lot of parents, too, are not even really sure what their kids need or don’t need,” she added. Ava Masoudian, who’s starting Grade 8 in the fall, learned about the summertime clinics from a TPH letter that Toronto schools distributed last month to students in Grades 7-12 and their parents.

No sympathies here. Addicts continue to use illegal drugs knowing the supply is toxic but continue to use them anyway. We need drug rehab to get people off drugs. We don’t need safe centres to continue enabling this destructive behaviour.
