Crews responded to a home on Bromsgrove Road, near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Royal Windsor Drive, around 3 a.m. Two other people were able to escape the blaze by themselves, Rizzi said, and were on the front lawn of the home when firefighters arrived. One of those people had serious burns to their body, Rizzi added. A paramedic was also taken to hospital to be assessed for smoke inhalation.
Jim Gillespie, an investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshal's office, said Tuesday afternoon that the fire doesn't appear suspicious. That statement came after emergency officials initially reported the incident was being investigated as suspicious Tuesday morning.
