People in Thunder Bay had to break out their shovels Monday morning following the first round of snowfall in what Environment Canada says will be a three-day snowstorm.

1st day of spring storm passes without much trouble for Thunder Bay, but more snow is in store | CBC News LoadedAs the spring snow storm continues in Thunder Bay, experts are warning people to exercise caution when out in winter conditions. The first day of Thunder Bay's latest spring storm passed without any major incidents on the roads and officials are warning people to keep vigilant when on the roads so that it stays that way.

While the city is keeping main roads plowed, Thunder Bay's roads manager Ian Spoljarich said it's still important to be extra cautious when driving during storms. "As the temperature starts to drop, we're going to see a little bit more snow on the roads overnight. Depending on where you're driving, they're wet in some areas and kind of snow covered in others.""If you don't need to go out, stay home. Let the road crews do their work," said Spoljarich.

Spoljarich recommended that those who do need to travel stick to main roads as much as possible and monitor conditions frequently.
