Malek Batal of the University of Montreal, one of the study’s lead investigators, says the findings show governments must do more remove barriers in access to traditional food to help address the disproportionately high rates of First Nations food insecurity and the chronic disease.First Nation chiefs work to defeat on-reserve poverty, pitch pipeline investmentOne key trend noted by the scientists is that when traditional food is present, nutrition and diet quality improve.
“Traditional food is still of much better quality than the market food that is available to First Nations in most communities. The traditional food system is very important for health reasons, and obviously, for cultural reasons,” Batal said. Thats pretty much everyones situation
So does everyone........
I can believe that. A very compassionate good friend drove school bus and picked up kids without warm clothes and did not have breakfast. They had a bottle of pop for lunch in some cases. He gave them his lunch and warm jackets when he could. He finally had to change routes.
The chiefs sure don’t.
On what else are they spending the money?
Chips, pop, kfc, caned and boxed food. Need to learn how to cook with real food. Grow a garden, learn how to can. It can be done.
And Trudeau is giving millions of dollars to terrorists and having fun with the tax payer money
