A 74-year-old man was pronounced dead after being transported to hospital following a fire at an apartment building in the Hull sector of Gatineau on Thursday night, according to a news release from Gatineau police.
Firefighters responded to the fire at an apartment building on rue Lafontaine shortly after 9:30 p.m., police said.Most of the building's residents were evacuated and were later able to return to their homes.
