UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates' staunch opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland during a meeting with visiting US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to the UAE 's official news agency, WAM, President bin Zayed stated that the UAE firmly rejects any attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their land.

\\\Secretary Rubio's visit to Abu Dhabi marked the final leg of his inaugural Middle East tour, which included discussions on US President Donald Trump's controversial proposal to place Gaza under US control and relocate its inhabitants. The trip also saw significant diplomatic progress with Russian officials in Riyadh, covering topics such as efforts to de-escalate the war in Ukraine. \\\President bin Zayed emphasized the importance of linking Gaza's reconstruction to a pathway leading to comprehensive and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, as reported by WAM. Rubio's visit to the UAE precedes a crucial summit in Saudi Arabia, gathering the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, and Jordan to address President Trump's Gaza plan. The Trump administration, which dismisses any future role for Hamas in the Palestinian territory, has called upon Arab nations, who are vehemently opposed to Palestinian displacement in Gaza, to present alternative solutions to the president's proposal. President Trump's plan involves placing war-torn Gaza, ravaged by over 15 months of conflict with Israel, under US control and relocating its 2.4 million inhabitants, primarily to neighboring Jordan and Egypt. During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Secretary Rubio met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stressing the need for a Gaza arrangement that contributes to regional security, according to a statement released. In Jerusalem, the beginning of his tour, Secretary Rubio pledged unwavering US support to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, granting Israel the authority to proceed as it sees fit in Gaza, where a fragile ceasefire took effect on January 19. On Tuesday, Secretary Rubio led a US delegation in unprecedented talks with Russian officials, including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in Riyadh
