Local businesses donate billboard space to promote services for abused children.
) - The Child Advocacy Center is launching a new campaign to educate the public about its mission as April marks Child Abuse Awareness Month . Lamar Advertising and Lewis Communications are donating billboard space and creative work to help spread the word about the services the center provides for abused children and their families.
The Child Advocacy Center grounds were decked out in blue pinwheels to symbolize the abuse victims who came to the center last year to receive a wide range of services. At a press conference today, Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Andy Wynne discussed the importance of public awareness of the program. “They’re but horrible things often told all these horrible things that will happen if they tell anybody, but horrible things are already happening, and we can help protect them. That really is it. These kids need to be removed from the situation or have the situation removed from them, and protect them from any consequences of that, and begin that healing processing because it does take a very long time,” Wynne said.Baldwin man admits to embezzling almost $500,000 from Daphne companyDriver injured after narcotics chase ends in crash22 affordable homes hit the market in Midtown Mobile with income requirements
