The ABC's much-loved weatherman of more than two decades Mike Bailey is being remembered as a man who was 'superb at his craft' and had a 'cheeky glint in his eye'.

He rejoined the ABC in 1984, when he became best known as a trusted face in the NSW 7:00pm TV news bulletin, presenting the weather for more than two decades. "He was an accomplished journalist and presenter, a respected and well-liked colleague and loved by viewers," Mr Anderson said. ABC News Breakfast presenter Michael Rowland tweeted that Bailey was "superb at his craft and was a genuinely nice man".
