Postcode pricing for home insurance a 'rude shock' for customers outside flood zonesHome owners across the country say hefty increases on their home insurance premiums are 'inequitable' because they don't live on flood-prone properties. the insurance companies are practising discrimination where they charge extra based on postcodes Is it legal? yes NRMA has insured me for flood even though and i said don't want flood insurance.. i live on a hill nowhere near water or a flood zone. Just another way of increasing insurance policies. . We should all work together and pool our money to insure eachother as a society. It would be fairer, reduce overheads and be cheaper than using retail insurers. We could call it the Goverment Insurance Office. .
