Alpha loves playing with her friends at the shelter and would love to meet you too!
Alpha is a 6-year-old spayed female Akita who arrived at the Fairbanks Animal Shelter with little information provided about her other than she did live most of her life outdoors. However, the shelter staff report she has done an excellent job at adapting to being inside.
All of the care staff have been won over by Alpha’s sweet demeanor, and they say someone is certain to fall in love with her. She has a very good temperament, and is always eager to get outside and go on adventures! Alpha has also seemed to get along well with her doggy neighbors at the shelter. Since it is unclear if she has been around other animals or children in the past, please make sure that you are doing slow, safe and controlled introductions with all new friends to set her up for success. Her next owner should bring Alpha to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners, and possibly learn a trick or two.
