City of London Police confirmed there had been an explosion near Fenchurch Street station in the centre of the city
A major emergency response was set in place after an explosion near a central London station. One eye-witness said 'hundreds' of emergency services flooded the area near Fenchurch Street station on Friday morning.
A number of people took to social media to report what they had seen. Several posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying that there had been an incident near the station.
