A former hotel worker faces charges for allegedly supplying drugs to the late One Direction singer, Zayn Malik, in the months leading up to his death.

A former hotel staffer, Braian Nahuel Paiz, has been arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to the late singer, Zayn Malik , in the lead-up to his death on October 16th. Paiz was taken into custody in Buenos Aires on Friday. In November, he told Argentinian news station Telefe Noticias that while he and Payne drank alcohol and used substances together in the singer's hotel room, he denied supplying him with drugs.

However, Paiz claimed that Payne was already under the influence of drugs and hadn't eaten. He alleged meeting Payne a second time on October 13th, where Payne asked for his drug dealer's contact information, which Paiz provided. Paiz further claimed they spent the night together, used drugs, and engaged in intimate acts. He stated that while he used weed, Payne was allegedly on cocaine. Paiz also claimed Payne appeared normal and kind during their encounter. Other individuals charged in connection with Payne's death include Ezequiel Pereyra, another hotel staffer, and CasaSur Palermo Hotel operations manager. Page Six has reached out to Payne's estate for comment but has not yet received a response
