In downtown L.A., highs will be in the low 80s. In the valleys, up to the mid-90s. Inland, temperatures will soar to the mid 90s. In the low desert, temperatures will jump to 103 degrees.On Aug. 23, 1967 numerous thunderstorms hit San Bernardino County. Also on Aug 23, 1961, thunderstorms created mudflow problems for residents in Victorville and Lucerne Valley where at one point, water rose 12 feet high.
