A great combination of talents comes together once again for veterans.

Wed, May 22nd 2024 at 12:08 PMA group of service members wait to stow their luggage at the USO Northwest center at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on May 22, 2024. They also get care packages and snacks, some provided by soccer kids and their families from Eastside FC. The kids who love soccer, playing on Issaquah-based Eastside FC teams, also love helping their fellow community members, and this time, they’re reaching out to help U.S. veterans.

The kids and their families worked to collect donations of anything and everything a service member may need or want during long deployments, overseas travel and change-of-duty stations. The Eastside FC soccer teams teamed up with USO Northwest to find out what’s needed and then they assembled kits for the agency to distribute. They will be sent to the USO NW center at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to be given to troops as they transition to new bases.

KOMO News is proud to join forces with USO NW, a nonprofit service organization supporting not just service members but also their families and retired veterans.
