The Mercedes-Benz CLK LM was conceived as a streamlined CLK GTR that aimed to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans car auto cars
CLK GTR is an icon of endurance racing and an immaculate version of its second iteration, the CLK LM, has hit the used car market in the UK. Making this car all the more special is that it has been modified to make it road legal.to life by purchasing McLaren F1 GTR chassis #11R from private racing team Larbre Competition. They proceeded to overhaul the bodywork and install their own engine and after just 128 days, the car made its competitive debut.
Mercedes then set its eye on the 24 Hours of Le Mans, modifying the CLK GTR with sleeker bodywork to better suit the track’s long straights. Thus, the Mercedes-Benz CLK LM was born. While it never claimed victory at Le Mans, it did win the 1998 FIA GT Championship.LM has been listed up for sale through Joe Macari and is one of just four examples produced by Mercedes-Benz. It was used by the car manufacturer as a test vehicle and was sold after the 1998 season.
