The York County Coroner's Office has released the name of three workers who were hit and killed early Wednesday morning in a work zone of Interstate 83.

The York County Coroner 's Office has released the name of three workers who were hit and killed early Wednesday morning in a work zone on Interstate 83.The victims were identified as:Jesse McKenzie, 24, of SomersetRobert Hampe, 42, of MeyersdalePhilson Hinebaugh III, 24, of JohnstownThe crash happened in the southbound lanes between Exit 35, Lewisberry, and Exit 36, Fishing Creek, in Fairview Township around 3:30 a.m.

We have to depend on motorists not to be looking at their phones and to pay attention to what they're doing. We don't know what happened here, but unfortunately we have three folks who won't be going home,' he said.The southbound lanes of I-83 were shut down for nearly eight hours as first responders and a PSP crash reconstruction team worked the scene. This crash marks the third deadly collision in as many days in the Susquehanna Valley.
